Gunnells' Marine, formerly Greenwood Marine Sales and Service, was founded over 30 years ago by Bill Johnson.  On August 11, 1986, Barney and Gwen Gunnells purchased the dealership that is now known as Gunnells' Marine Unlimited Inc.. Barney and Gwen seek to provide the best service and fairest prices on a complete line of high quality, affordable boats, motors, trailers, parts and accessories.

The service you receive is just as important as the product when buying a new boat.  The staff at Gunnells' is concerned about you and your family, your boat, and your boating needs.  Let's introduce you to the crew from Gunnells' Marine.

Barney Gunnells, owner, has been in the marine industry since 1970.  At the age of 14, Barney worked for Bill Johnson at Greenwood Marine as an outboard technician.  From there, he moved into boat racing with his father and two brothers and became owner of Gunnells' Marine in 1986.  Barney is certified for Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, and PCM engines.

Gwen Gunnells, owner, is Barney's leading lady and the backbone of Gunnells.   She has an accounting degree from Lander University with a teacher certification in business education.  Gwen has a hand in every aspect of the business.

Ellis "Pop" Gunnells has been involved with boating for over 45 years.  First recreationally, then in racing, and now a full time associate of Gunnells' Marine.  Pop is involved in sales, parts, and anything else that goes on at Gunnells'.

Buddy Attaway has been with Gunnells' since 1987 and is a very important part in making Gunnells' Marine what it is today.  He is a Certified Technician for Mercury, Force, Mercruiser, Yamaha, and PCM. There are two special ladies that make his life complete, Lisa and Courtney.

Reba Bodie has been working with Gunnells' since 1995.  She handles many of the administrative duties and customer communications.  She tries to keep Gwen from misbehaving; which is tough.  Reba is Gwen's mom.

Gunnells Marine welcomes our newest presentation engineer, Alan Baker. Alan is the son of Dr. Phil and Keyna Baker. He has two brothers, Todd and Mark and sister Kayla. Alan attendsUSC. He enjoys water skiing and accomplished many titles. Alan slalom skies in the INT where he has won State & US Championship titles. He practices on Lake Greenwood behind a Nautique. He is now attending USC. We have kept his youngest picture on file to remind us of how much he has grown.

Also in our service department is Shane Wood. He and wife, Trici, had a wonderful surprise for all on 9/8/2004. They brought us Austin Wood. Shane calls Ninety-Six, SC home and enjoys fishing. Shane began with Gunnells Marine as a Installation Technician and advanced to the Technical department. Shane is an excellent Fiberglass and Gel Tech. With Shane’s talents, it allows Gunnells Marine to offer a wide range of services. Shane is a Certified Technician for Mercury, Force, MerCruiser, Yamaha, and PCM.

We have new employees joining us in 2007 to help serve you the consumer better. Bryan LaFrancis is assisting with the Parts and Pro Shop. Bryan is the normal teen that knows everything, just ask him. Of course he is not married, no kids, loves sports, motorcross, working on small engines, and working at GMU. So, stop Bryan to get some good information on "Big Air " with the wakeboards from Bryan. You will find he is a pleasure to work with on water toys.

Chad Hanson is Gunnells Marine Parts & Service Specialist. You will enjoy working with Chad on your marine parts and service needs.

When you want that new boat rigged and prepped for the water, just ask Joe for assistance. Joe Wilkinson preps and prepares the boats and motors for delivery with new and preowned sales. Joe comes to Gunnells Marine with boating expreience from North Carolina. He is a proud father and grandfather. Wow, grandchildren can make grandparents SMILE! There is one special lady that has kept Joe in line for 20 plus years, Patty. Joe is waiting to get your boat ready for the water.
