Gunnells Marine Unlimited Staff

Barney Gunnells, owner, has been in the marine industry since 1970. At the age of 14, Barney worked for Bill Johnson at Greenwood Marine as an outboard technician. From there, he moved into boat racing with his father and two brothers and became owner of Gunnells Marine Unlimited in 1986. Barney is certified for Mercury, Mercruiser, Force, and PCM engines.

Gwen Gunnells, owner, is Barney's business partner and wife; plus controller of the company. Just ask the employees who is in charge. Gwen has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Lander University in 1983 with a teacher certification in Business Education. Gwen works in every aspect of the business.

Reba Bodie has been working with Gunnells' since 1995. She handles many of the administrative duties and customer communications. She is still trying to prevent Gwen from misbehaving. Reba is Gwen's mom.

Lynne McDaniel is a graduate of Greenwood High School and Piedmont Technical College. Lynne graduated Piedmont Tech with an Associating Degree in Accounting & Business Management. Lynne started working with Gunnells Marine Unlimited in 1987 until 1993. After 20 years, Lynne returned. Lynne is married to Greg McDaniel and is the mother of DuPre McDaniel.

James has worked in the automotive and aviation industries and was a member of the United States Air Force. He's worked on C-130 and KC-135 ACFT. His father and grandfather were both in the navy, so James believes thats why the marine industry ended up his home. He claims that his wife and family are his life. His wife convinced him to move from a boat shop in Tennessee to her hometown and Gunnells Marine Unlimited. She is a vet and James is a veteran (lol) here in Greenwood, SC.

Buddy Attaway has been with Gunnells' since 1987 and is a very important part in making Gunnells Marine Unlimited what it is today. He is a Certified Technician for Mercury, Force, Mercruiser, Yamaha, Indmar, and PCM. There are two special ladies that make his life complete, Lisa and Courtney.

Dan Reece joined the Gunnells Team in 2016 as a Technician. He is from Georgia and jumped ship into SC to work for a dealership that has a lot of knowledge in the service center.

When you want the new boat rigged and prepped for the water, Daniel will get it ready. Daniel is a graduate of Clemson University as well as a graduate from Piedmont Technical College's Automotive Program.
